How Often Should I Replace My Sports Bra?
A sports bra is one of the most important pieces of workout gear. It helps keep you comfortable and supported during exercise. But over time, even the best sports bras can lose their support. Knowing when to replace them helps you stay comfortable, safe, and happy with your workouts.
Signs Your Sports Bra Needs Replacing
-
Loss of Support
If your sports bra feels loose or doesn’t hold your chest firmly during exercise, it’s time to replace it. -
Stretched Fabric
Sports bras stretch with wear and washing. When the band or straps don’t bounce back, they can’t support you properly. -
Worn Straps or Hooks
Straps that dig in or hooks that don’t stay in place mean the bra is past its prime. -
Fading or Pilling Fabric
When the fabric looks worn out or starts to pill, it may feel less comfortable and breathable.
How Often to Replace
For most people, a sports bra should be replaced every 6 to 12 months. If you wear it frequently, sweat a lot, or wash it often, you may need to replace it sooner. Less frequent use might allow a sports bra to last a little longer.
